It’s a little hard to believe it’s been six months since the last episode was uploaded to YouTube. As regular readers of my blog know, between working and thesis I had very little time for anything else – and to compound the issue, the Quest was once again beset by technical problems. They should be resolved for good, but, you know, I’m not going to swear it.
We shot the footage for Part VII at different times, but all so long ago it’s hard to remember any special anecdotes. (We are still planning on compiling a blooper reel though!) I can say that the shiner makeup was my favorite part – I had a tendency to forget I was wearing it once we finished shooting for the day. Also, it’s very hard to try on clothes when you’ve got your arm in a sling.
It was probably hard to see, so I’ll let you in on a bit of trivia: the shirt that Gabby wears to her meet in the park features the crest of the Unseen University from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. Just another ‘costume’ I made for the occasion.
I have to give a big thanks to Kimberly Laux (Aunt Fanny) who stepped in at the last moment to film her part, and my (real) aunt who let us invade her home for a weekend to shoot. Also many thanks to our Fantasy Hunters, who were really amazing about the crazy scheduling. And HUGE thanks to the cast and crew who have waited so patiently to see the rest of their hard work. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. The rest will be coming soon.
With Part VII complete, there are only 3 more episodes to go. Part VIII may be my favorite, I’ll have to see how it turns out in the editing process.
In the mean time, become a fan of the Quest on Facebook if you aren’t already, and tell everyone you know that they can view the other 6 episodes on YouTube, or just by checking out this page: Quest for Comic-Con
